Where to go for Climbing

There are five different routes to choose from, you could spend all afternoon conquering this mountain.

Park City Mountain Resort
Climbing the artificial tower at the base of Park City is a great way to get introduced to the sport, as well as a fun activity for kids in a safe and controlled environment. Snowbird also has a climbing wall to explore.

Little Cottonwood Canyon
This canyon is a gem, with beautiful granite climbs ranging from simple top-ropes on The Egg to fun multi-pitch trad routes on Crescent Crack Buttress. Approaches are generally reasonable, particularly for the shorter routes, and the nice campgrounds make for a great place to lay your head.

Big Cottonwood Canyon
This area holds some of the oldest routes in the area, starting as far back as the 1960's. Aquaduct, Penitentiary Wall and S-Curve all have a wide selection of single-pitch sport routes with some trad routes interspersed throughout.

American Fork Canyon
While it may be a little distance from Park City, this is one of the up-and-coming climbing areas in Utah. Focusing primarily on bolted routes, The Hideaway, The Billboard, and Little Mill are all quickly developing as sport climbing hot spots.

Uinta Mountains
Located east of the Wasatch Range, the Uinta Mountains are more commonly associated with technical mountaineering to the 13,000-foot summits. However, there is rock climbing to be found as well, particularly Ruth Lake and Good Medicine Wall.
